Richard Lindauer

August 21, 1929 — January 25, 2015

Richard N.  Lindauer, age 85, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his home. He was born August 21, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Clare Lamont and Ethel Isola (Day) Lindauer. A 1947 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Richard joined the Michigan Air National Guard and retired in 1986 as an airplane mechanic. During his time in the service, he participated in the nuclear testing program on Christmas Island. He was a pilot owning his own plane a PT 13. Richard loved to hunt for small game, played guitar and sang at Country Fever with various bands, was a lifelong bowler and enjoyed playing golf. On August 21, 2005 he was married to Donna (Peck) Morrow-Lindauer who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Mark (Teresa) Lindauer and Terry (Lynn) Lindauer both of Battle Creek; three step-children: Steve (Marcia) Morrow of Oregon, Michelle (Mike) Hill of Battle Creek and Pamela Morrow of Arizona; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Frank (Lucille) Lindauer of Battle Creek and Larry (Sandy) Lindauer of Portage. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Ruth (Ploehn) on March 8, 2003 and a son, Kevin on August 2, 2009. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
