Richard Lewis

Richard  D.  Lewis, Age 85, Of Davenport, FL, Formerly of Battle Creek, Died Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Richard was born on December 9, 1927, in Battle Creek, the son of Paulford and Velma (Messner) Lewis. He had been a lifelong resident of the area. He then moved to Florida in 1993 where he was currently residing. He was united in marriage to the former Bonnie J. Phillips who survives. Richard worked for Post Cereals as a pipefitter for 37 plus years retiring in 1987. He enjoyed boating, bike riding, working in the yard and was in the National Guard. Richard and Bonnie spent their whole life traveling the U.S. with their children prior to retiring to Florida.  Surviving are children, Bradley Lewis of FL, Sherry (Tony) Mahoney and Holly Kazlauskas both of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
