Richard Hardy

Richard C. Hardy, age 66 of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. He was born April 24, 1947 in Libertyville, Illinois and moved to Battle Creek with his mother as a young boy. Dick was a member of the Catholic Athletic Association and filmed St. Philip sporting events for over 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, boating, reading and watching movies. On August 24, 1968 he was married to Gail A. (Formsma) who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Ryan Christopher Hardy, Anthony Harris Hardy and Trevor Alexander (Blair) Hardy; two grandchildren: Kaylee and Jackson Hardy; and one brother: Rev. James Patrick Hardy. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Marie (Shields) Hardy. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Very Rev. Mark J. Vyverman, V.F. and The Rev. James Patrick Hardy officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
