Richard A. ”Dick” Clark, 69 of Battle Creek, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 9, 2011 following a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born May 21, 1941 at his home on Fine Lake the son of John W. and Margaret (McKale) Clark. Dick was a lifelong resident of the Battle Creek area and retired from Motor Wheel in Lansing where he had worked for over 30 years. He loved to camp and was a member of the Jay Ganders Camping Club, walked the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day for 12 years, enjoyed working in his yard and clock collecting and repair. On January 20, 1978 he was married to Evelyn R. (Baker), who survives. Also surviving are three children: Amy Rose of Stanwood, Richard (Susie) Gallihugh of Bellevue and Kenneth Gallihugh of Battle Creek; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother: Kenneth (Linda) Clark of Ceresco; one sister: Suzanne Williams of Battle Creek; sister-in-law: Alice Clark of Coldwater; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Eugene, Paul and Donald Clark; and four sisters: Betty Poole, Charlene Hutchinson, Jerrylyn Keck and Billie Jo Clark. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
