Richard L. Brush, Age 83, Of Battle Creek, Died Monday, April 25, 2016, in Battle Creek. Richard “Dick” was born on July 4, 1932, in South Bend, IN, the son of Lloyd and Bernice (Hess) Brush. He was a graduate of Three Oaks High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University. A U.S. Army veteran, he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant Finance Corp. Dick worked for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for nearly 33 years until his retirement in 1995. He was united in marriage to the former Barbara J. Johnson who preceded him in death in 2002. He enjoyed, fishing, target shooting and hunting for rocks and arrowheads during annual trips to Arizona. Surviving are daughters, Margo Brush, Denise (Tom) Poyer and Jennifer (Robert) Craft; a son. Richard (Angela) Brush; grandchildren, Richard N. Brush II and Decklan Craft; a sister, Bonnie (Robert) Sittig; his beloved dog, Bandit. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
