Died on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Bickford Senior Living, Battle Creek. Richard was born on June 4, 1936, in Lansing, MI, the son of Percy and Mary (Miller) Becker. He was a graduate of St. Philip Catholic High School in 1954. He was a veteran serving during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Kellogg Community College for officers training, University of Michigan, and the State Police Academy. He married the former Connie Newman who preceded him in death in 2022. He was a Captain with the Battle Creek Fire Department Arson Division retiring after 28 years of service. Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Parish Council and served as president of the Lions Club from 1992 to 1993. Surviving are brothers, Jerry Becker and William Becker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Becker. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. www.henryfuneralhome.org
