Rex Earl Kloack, age 81, of Leroy Township, died Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. Rex was born April 9, 1940 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Clyde and Colleen (Coleman) Kloack. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Springfield High School in 1958 and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. On June 13, 1959, he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis A. Carey who survives. He is also survived by his children: Brenda (Michael) Smith and Teresa (Tony) Miller; grandchildren: Sierra Smith, Brandon, Brock and Bryce Bernhardt; two brothers: Ron Kloack and Dan Kloack, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Kay Beeman in 2015. Rex was employed at Eaton Corporation for many years and later owned and operated Kloack Construction, doing both commercial and residential construction. Following his retirement, he and Phyllis wintered in the Zephyrhills area of Florida for many years. A place which they both loved. Rex enjoyed fishing for Bluegill, gardening and yard work, classic cars and was a member of the Moose Lodge 676 in Marshall. Visitation will be held at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at the funeral home later that day with Rev. Dr. James M. Gysel officiating and may be viewed by going to Rex’s obituary page at www.henryfuneralhome.org Interment will follow the service at Morgan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
