Reva Ann Cole, Age 90, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on January 5th at Heritage Assisted Living. Reva was born September 25, 1934, in Piqua, Ohio to Harry A. Newcomer and Marth Lucille (Botkin) Newcomer. Reva grew up in Lima, Ohio and graduated from Lima Central High School in 1952. She married James Harold Cole on August 7, 1955. They have two Daughters, Sandra Lynn White (David) and Karen Jean O’Brien (Jerry) who are surviving. Also surviving are four Grandchildren Megan and Sean O’Brien of Battle Creek. Heather (Robert) King and Matthew (Skylar) Mearing. Three Greatgrandchildren James Matthew Mearing, Vivianne and Sammy King of North Carolina. Jim and Reva are members of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. After graduating from high school Reva did office work at home service in Lima, Ohio and then at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In June 1958 Jim and Reva moved to Battle Creek where Jim was employed at Post Cereals research department and then as manager of the quality systems department. Reva enjoyed doing volunteer work at Verona School, doing a reading program with children, setting up the school library and many offices in the Verona PTA. She also did volunteer work at the Kingman Museum and the wildlife film series at the Kellogg auditorium. After Jim’s retirement from Post Cereals, Jim and Reva started their own business producing and presenting travellog movies through all the United States and Canada. They traveled through western United States, Canada, Poland, Finland, England, Scotland, Wales, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg producing their films. Reva enjoyed being in the High School band and orchestra. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, drawing, painting and cooking for her family. Visitation and the funeral service will take place at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Visitation is from 11:00 AM to noon followed by the funeral service at noon. The burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2 PM. www.henryfuneralhome.org
