Regina Boarts

Regina R. Boarts, age 94, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully Monday, December 19, 2016 aside her beloved family. Born on September 11, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Alexander and Mary Zaracki, Regina’s life was an inspiration to all of those who knew her. Strength, kindness, hardwork and giving were the pinnacle of Regina’s joy and spirit. Helping others was the true joy of her life. For over 22 years she was employed with Leila Hospital and retired from the Battle Creek Health System. She loved animals, spending time with her family and listening to music. Throughout her life was devoted to her catholic faith. Regina’s spirit was best recognized by her independence, feistiness, sense of humor and funny wit.  She was married to John W. Boarts on July 31, 1954, who preceded her in death on November 1, 1971. She was also preceded by her parents, one sister and her father and mother in law: Walter and Ethel Boarts. Surviving are her two sons: John W. Boarts Jr. and David J. Boarts both of Charlotte; daughter, Diane G. (Steve) Norman of Battle Creek; three grandchildren: Michelle Norman of Battle Creek, Kristin (Justin) Marx of Seattle, Washington and Michael Boarts of East Lansing; and one great-grandson: Preston Boarts of East Lansing. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
