Raymond S. Zull, age 95, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 30, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1925 in LaPorte, IN., the son of Samuel and Rose (Juranek) Zull. Raymond came to Battle Creek as a young child with his family. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1943, and Western Michigan University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business. Raymond served as a Sargent in the United States Army. During his time of service, he received three purple hearts, a bronze and silver star, and a good conduct medal. Raymond was a member of the Battle Creek Exchange Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and St. Joe Dad’s Club. He was an avid golfer and University of Michigan fan. He loved fishing, traveling, hunting for golf balls, and spending time with his family. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Linda Zull, brother; Dale Zull, and sisters; Angeline Pruis and Rosemary Downs. Raymond was married to Marion Horner on June 21, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, she survives. Also surviving are daughters; Carol (Joe) Zuk of Battle Creek, Leslie (Vic) Tuttle of Vicksburg, JoAnn (Jim) Bria of Atlanta, GA., son; Scott (Julie) Zull of Hastings, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A memorial mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Talons Out Honor Flight or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
