Ramona Busch

Ramona Ann Busch, age 60, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.  Ramona was born on November 6, 1953, in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of William and Katherine (Rudovich) Harbison.  She had been an area resident since 1987.  Ramona also lived in Merriville, Indiana from 1953 to 1977 and Valparaiso, Indiana from 1977 to 1987.   She was a graduate of Merriville High School and Butler University in 1976 and Valparaiso University in 1978 receiving her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts.  She was employed at Portage Indiana Schools from 1978 to 1987 and then Lakeview Schools from 1989 to present. Ramona was devout mother and a talented music teacher.  Ramona worked at Westlake Elementary School for many years.  She was a member of St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church and the St. Mary’s Sisterhood.  Ramona enjoyed traveling, gardening and gourmet cooking.  On August 23, 1987, she was united in marriage to Gary E. Busch who survives.  Also surviving are her parents; two sons: Matthew Busch and Joshua (Leah) Busch of Omaha, NE; one grandson, Tyler; three brothers: Mark (Deanna) Harbison, Vincent (Pamela) Harbison and William Harbison II all of Valparaiso, IN, and aunt, Julia Karp.  Visitation will be held at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00  to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the Panikhida Service at 7:30 P.M.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church with The Very Reverend Father Lawrence Bacik officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
