Ralph R. McCormack, Jr., age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at The Reflections Memory Care. He was born September 4, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio and moved with his family to Battle Creek where he graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1941. Upon graduation he began working at General Foods until his enlistment in the Marine Corps on September 17, 1942. Ralph served in the Pacific Theatre in the Marshall Islands, Guam, Marianas Islands, Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on December 6, 1945. He returned to General Foods retiring on June 1, 1981. Ralph enjoyed refinishing furniture, caning antique chairs, travelling and playing golf. On June 23, 1946 he was married to Bonolyn J. (Merriam) and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2004. He was also preceded by his parents, sister Betty West and nephew Michael West. Surviving are two children: Brenda Moon and Jeffrey McCormack; four grandchildren: Colleen, Tom, Michael and Kelli; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister-in-law: Jacquie Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Oakridge Cemetery, Marshall. The family will receive friends at the Richard A.
