Quentin Jones

Battle Creek

Quentin H. Jones, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 21, 2022.  He was born on August 2, 1932 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Homer and Birdie (Hoskinson) Jones.  He was lovingly raised by Homer and Mae Jones.  Quentin graduated  in 1950 from Laird High School, in Pueblo, CO., then went on to receive his Associates Degree in electronics.  He previously lived for 44 years in Walnut Creek, California before moving to Battle Creek to make his home where he lived for the past ten years.  Quentin worked as an Engineering Associate for AT&T for 29 years, retiring in 1988.  He enjoyed carpentry and wood working, building electronic equipment, and was an avid walker.  Quentin proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 as a Third Class Petty Officer.  He was united in marriage on December 15, 1962 to Lucy Thomason, she preceded him in death on December 28, 2018.  Also preceding him in death are his parents, brothers; Galen Jones,  Gary Jones, sisters; Janet Walker and Kay Yost.  He is survived by his step daughters; Karon (Douglas) Plunkett of Pittsford, MI., Sharon (Dean) Denfeld of Woodstock, GA.,  sister; Carol (Dean) Newton of Wray, CO., brothers; Milton (Venetta) Jones of Greeley, CO., Wallace Jones of Weatherford, TX., Allen (Judy) Jones, Sam Jones, Dave (Barbara) Jones, Dennis (DeAnna) Jones all of Wray, CO., four grandchildren; Eric and Grace Denfeld, Jason & Christin Plunkett, sister-in-law; Dorothy Hughes, and a special family friend; Ida McCray of Battle Creek.  Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Douglas Plunkett Officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow the service at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
