Phyllis Marie Robinson, born in Jackson, MI, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 18th, 2022. She was 96 years old.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband George H. Robinson Jr., Mother and Father, Mildred and Ernest Edger and her brother Richard Woodworth Edger. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Steiner (Donald), her four children Joyce Duford (John), Deborah Diget (Dwight), Jacqueline Rhoudes (Leon), George H. Robinson III (Donna), her nine adoring grandchildren, and 13 active great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother known for her hard work, exceptional cooking, and the ability to give a look that would stop her kids and grandkids dead in their tracks when they had done something wrong. She was actively involved in her children’s lives as a leader in the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Brownies for over 20 years.
Phyllis and her husband George owned the White Market grocery store located in Ann Arbor, MI for over 30 years. She helped manage the store, did the accounting, and build relationships with employees and customers that lasted decades and stretched around the globe. They retired to a farm in central Texas where they raised horses, cattle, chickens, dogs, and cats. Phyllis continued to work on the farm all the while working as a bookkeeper at a local business until she was 90 years old.
She is loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
