Pauline Esther Daniel, age 95 of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. She was born January 8, 1918 in Three Rivers, Michigan the daughter of Edward Benedict and Leta (Moinet) Doll. Mrs. Daniel graduated from Coldwater High School and attended Tri-State University for two years receiving an Associate’s Degree. On April 19, 1941 she was married to Fenton Daniel and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1969. She was also preceded by her parents; one son, Frederick Daniel; two brothers and one sister. Pauline worked as a teaching assistant at Woodlawn Nursery School for many years, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was actively in the Altar Society. For many years she was deeply committed to her volunteer work with Lakeview Hospital/Mercy Pavilion. Pauline was devoted to her family and is survived by her children: Sally (Ward) White, Tom Daniel, Cynthia (James Wilber) Daniel, Polly (Ed) Crane, Nancy (Rocco Martin) Daniel, Edward (Pat) Daniel, Christine Crooks and Richard Daniel; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools Foundation. Pauline’s caring and selflessness will never be forgotten. As a mother, grandmother and a friend – she remains, always in our hearts.
