Paul T. Jones, age 92, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home. He was born March 23, 1925 in Monterey, Tennessee the son of Claude and Clara (Buckner) Jones. Paul graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1943 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Grand Trunk Railroad as a clerk in 1985 after 39 years of service and wintered in Florida. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and played guitar and fiddle in country bands from 1953 to 2010. He also enjoyed playing golf and fishing and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. On March 16, 1948 he was united in marriage to Yvonne E. (Pearson), who preceded him in death on April 11, 2014. Paul is survived by his son: Greg (Nancy) Jones of Dowling; four grandchildren: Tatiana and Gregory Jones, Ryan (Kathryn) Juarez and Chad Juarez; one sister: Claudine Ploehn of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Rebekah Landis, sister: Mae Mignery; brother: Carl Jones and his parents. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
