Patty Daws of Marshall, Michigan went home to be with our Lord on March 6, 2021. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Bertha Avila, her daughter Amy Lynn, and her sister Christina Olguin. She is survived by her husband Don, daughter Liz, grandchildren Ciara Daws, Jolee McCluskey, Eden McCluskey, Liam Daws, Willow Rubek, and her two-month-old great-granddaughter Arya Reign (Ciara). Her living siblings are Andy (Judi) Avila, Kathie (Rick) Boyer, Yollie (Bruce) Glidden, John (Heather) Avila, and Vivian (Dean Crawford) Avila. Nieces and nephews include Aaron and Andrea Avila, Daniel Boyer, Heather Hebert, Meghan and Stacey Glidden, Christina and Edward Avila, Jordan Avila, Zachary and Jada Olguin, and many grand nieces and nephews.
Patty was known lovingly as “Nana” and was deeply in love with life and family; her joyful spirit will be irreplaceable. A born-again Christian, she loved celebrating the works of Christ through her church (Family Bible Church in Marshall) and volunteered every week with Lighthouse Ministries through the church. Patty loved gardening, shopping for a bargain, and fishing. If you were in ear-shot, you knew Patty was nearby by her ‘signature’ high spirited laugh! “Nana” was a life-long best friend and a bright light to all that knew her; her special gift was to bring happiness to everyone. She was “the best Nana ever”, heaven gained another beautiful angel.
God blessed us all with Patty for 57 years and she continues in life through her husband Don and four adopted grandchildren (Ciara, Jolee, Eden, and Liam) that she and Don have been lovingly raising in their home in Marshall. Patty and Don, both retired, spent 37 years together opening their home to anyone who needed help, no questions, no reasons.
Patty will be cremated and due to COVID restrictions, a life celebration will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations via GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/203c9041 may be made to the Daws family to help Don lay “Nana” to rest and help Don continue to raise their three youngest adopted grandchildren.
