Patricia Ann Ritzler, age 72 of Battle Creek, fell asleep at home Sunday, January 20, 2013 surrounded by her family, and awoke holding the hand of Jesus. She was born March 11, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of John and Muriel (Evans) McAllister. She was a 1958 graduate of Pontiac Central High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Adrian College in 1962 with a double major in Chemistry and Math. Patricia was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church for almost 50 years where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, Treasurer, Youth leader and Deaconess. She had also been a teacher’s aide at Territorial school, past president of the P.T.A. and Band Boosters, Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Leader, member of the Citizens Advisory Committee, and served in numerous other volunteer activities. She enjoyed sewing, golf, and traveling. On January 27, 1962 she was married to Edwin V. Ritzler who survives. Also surviving are three children: John Charles (Pam) Ritzler of Osceola, IN, Nancy Dale Papierz of Otsego, MI and Sherie Lee Ritzler of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Adam T. Metzger and Rev. Dr. Morris Anderson officiating. Committal services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to either the Michigan Parkinson Foundation or Lakeview Baptist Church.
