Patricia Poudrier

October 1, 1941 — September 22, 2019

Patricia A. Poudrier 77, nurse and life-long resident of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away at home after a brief illness Sunday, September 22, 2019. Patricia is survived by her three children Darcy (Tom) Waybrant, John Poudrier, and Laura (Dennis) King; her grandchildren Wade Davis, Sydney Davis, Haley Preston, and Barrett King; as well great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband George Poudrier II; mother Gladys Troglen, father Charles Troglen; sisters Glenda Finney, Wanda Baird, Virginia Morison, and brother Ernest Troglen.  Her sister Betty Meyers passed 4 days after her on September 26, 2019. Patricia was born on October 1, 1941.  She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1959 and went on to earn her associate degree in Registered Nursing (RN) from Kellogg Community College.  She went on to serve at several local hospitals throughout her 34 years as a registered nurse. On February 26, 1965 she married George Poudrier II and welcomed three children into her family in subsequent years. Patricia was a devoted wife and mother and a wonderful friend to many.  She was respected, admired and well-liked by her friends, patients, and colleagues.  Patricia retired from her position as a cardiac rehabilitation nurse from Battle Creek Health Systems and went on to spend much of her time focused on her hobbies and traveling.  Patricia was a talented artist who worked with media including acrylic paints, watercolors, and oils.  Although talented in many artistic aspects, her true passion was quilting.  She created many exquisite quilts throughout her life and took great pleasure in sharing her craft by teaching others and entering them in quilt shows.  Patricia also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She was always up for an adventure and many cherished memories of trips resulted in these travels.  Patricia was an avid morel mushroom hunter and passed this love of nature on to her children. Patricia will be remembered as a very loving mother, devoted grandmother and caring friend. In accordance with Patricia's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Patricia's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Rd, Battle Creek, MI. 49015. www.henryfuneralhome.org
