Patricia Gieske

Patricia Ann Gieske, Age 77, Of East Leroy, MI, Died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Patricia was born on September 28, 1938, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Walter E. and Evelyn M. (Hart) Shiarla. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Athens High School in 1978. On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to James L. Gieske who survives. Patricia had been employed at Upjohn Health Care from 1982 to 1989 and was co-owner of City Food and Beverage. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of H.O. G., past president of Athens Lioness and a member of the Harley Owners Group. She served two years as planning and zoning commissioner. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working with flowers, sewing, traveling and motorcycle riding. Surviving are children, Victor H. (Jessica) Gieske of Battle Creek, James L. (Nora) Gieske of Battle Creek, Sherry (Frank) Gieske Hurlbert of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Mari (Scott) Gieske Parks of Palm Coast, FL; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Gieske Myers Hatchett in 1999. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
