Palmer Philp

Palmer William “Sandy” Philp, age 84, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Sandy was born on October 25, 1931, in Battle Creek, the son of Palmer F. and Pearl (Covert) Philp. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1951. He married Kathryn Alice Philp who preceded him in death in 2005. Sandy worked for Sullivan Dairy for 18 years, then with Snyder’s for 3 years, Ashley Dairy for 7 years and then 22 years with Schaffer’s/Holsum Bakery until his retirement. He was a member of Pennfield Presbyterian Church. He loved going to baseball games. Surviving are sons, Craig P. (Tina) Philp, Paul R. Philp and Martin T. “Marty” Philp; a brother, Charles (Sharon) Philp.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas R. Nettleton of Pennfield Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Pennfield Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org
