Ozelle Lynda Smith, Age 84, Of Battle Creek, Passed away on Saturday January 2, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family. Ozelle was born June 18, 1931, in Coffee County, Tennessee to Carroll and Tina (Davis) Tucker. Ozelle was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and a past Royal Matron of the Amaranth. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Ozelle loved blue-grass music and reading, however her favorite past time was spending time with her family. Ozelle retired from Jim’s Country Fried Chicken in 1981, which she ran with her late husband Jim. Her husband of 62 years preceded her in death in 2009. Ozelle is survived by 2 sons, Dale M. Smith of Battle Creek and Rex M. (Sue Shafe) Smith of Marshall; daughter, Brenda G. Smith of Battle Creek and grandson, James C. (Kristin Colwell) Smith of Portage. She is also survived by her niece, Linda (Al) Schwab of Battle Creek. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or memorial service.
