Norman Tilbury

Norman L. Tilbury, age 82, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Arthur and Isabella (Dreyfus) Tilbury. Norman was a 1951 graduate of Lakeview High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He began working at the Kellogg Company after graduation and retired from the Michigan Bell Telephone Company in 1988. He was a member of the B.P.O.E #131, Amvets #1992, American Legion Post #298, V.F.W. and Moose Lodge #874. On November 29, 1957 he was married to the former Laura (Symons) who preceded him in death on October 17, 2008. He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida, playing golf and fishing. Norman later married Janet Caloro on December 17, 2011 who survives. Also surviving are his two children: Debbie (Christian) Shiemke of Howell and Randy (Stacey) Tilbury of Portage; seven grandchildren and his sister: Thelma Cross of Apopka, Florida. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 7, 2016 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
