Norma Jean Thompson

Norma J. Thompson, age 91, of Climax, Michigan passed away on September 24, 2024 at The Oaks at Battle Creek. She was born in Tyler County, West Virginia on September 25, 1932 the daughter of Thurman and Evelyn (Martin) Thomas. Norma moved to Battle Creek in 1980, she previously worked as a telephone operator, Avon consultant, and as a home health aide for Lifespan of Battle Creek. Norma enjoyed gardening, auctions, and was a fan of Tweety Bird. Norma loved to spend time and make lifelong memories with her family. She would play Solitaire and Crazy Eights for hours. Norma also enjoyed tap dancing, and continued to do so until she was in her 60’s. She was married to Harold Thompson, he preceded her in death in 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, Paul Thompson, and daughter, Rhea Kelley. She is survived by her children; Allen Thompson of Climax, MI., Reeda (Gary) Ellis of Hanover, MI., Jana (Robert) Waller of Austin, TX., sister, Roma Hart of West Virginia, brothers; Joseph (Melody) Thomas of Charleston, WV., Don Thomas of Sistersville, WV., seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Graveside service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 30th at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
