Norine Walters

Norine R. Walters, age 77, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born March 1, 1937 in Indiana the daughter of Arthur and Nora (Strong) Rietsma. Norine was a graduate of Lakeview High School and Kellogg Community College where she earned her Registered Nursing degree. She went on to work for Dr. Young and Dr. McCuaig for many years. On December 2, 1956, Norine was married to Gary L. Walters, who survives. She greatly enjoyed her family and grandchildren which includes three children: Sheri (Jim) Nabozny, Michelle (Keith) Martens and Jeff (Sue) Walters; two granddaughters: Morgan and Brooke Martens and her brother: Gary (Karen) Rietsma. She was preceded in death by her parents. Norine enjoyed needlepoint, flower gardening, travel and reading, and played with the same card group for 50 years. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
