Nilah J. “Sammy” Walker, age 96, of Battle Creek, died on June 28, 2022. She was born June 16, 1926 in Port Huron, MI., and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1944. She worked in Muller Brass in Port Huron; the Pentagon Building in Washinton D.C.; for U.S. Selective Service in Port Huron, and the Selective Service in Battle Creek. She was employed by Clark Equipment Co. in 1961 from which she retired in 1982 after 21 years of service. She and her husband were co-owners of Collateral Management Co. Nilah was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter D. Campbell, son, Gary L. Campbell, sister, Donna (Allyn) Studaker, and her present husband, Donald Walker. Surviving are her son, James (Sue) D. Campbell of Battle Creek, grandson, James (Krista) D. Campbell of Warsaw, IN., granddaughter, Wendy (Nick) S. Ginsberg of Wyoming, MI., great grandchildren, Alyssa and Abi Campbell, Maria and Parker Ginsberg, sister, Audrey L. Grattan of Rives Junction, MI., and several nieces, nephews and cousin. Funeral service scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Elder Ellie Easley officiating.
