Nichole T. McMillan, age 34, of Wyoming, MI and formerly of Battle Creek was called home to be with the Lord surrounded by family and friends Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. She had fallen ill in April with a lung issue and it continued to worsen and was never diagnosed. Nichole was born February 18, 1981 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of Gary Allan and Penny Sue (Kandlstorfer) McMillan. A 1999 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Nichole was one of six Valedictorians. She went on to Grand Valley State University where she graduated in 2004 with degrees in both literature and elementary education. She chose not to teach because she would not have been able to do the creative things she wanted to do and was currently working at UTI Logistics in Grand Rapids. Nichole loved her fur babies, her new puppy and her home in Wyoming she purchased last August and shared with her boyfriend Jon and his two children Alex and Kiera. She also enjoyed New Kids on the Block concerts, going to two with her mom as they made a girls weekend out of it. Nichole is survived by her parents: Gary and Penny McMillan; brother: Jordan McMillan; grandparents: Richard and Mary Bennett; great-grandma: Beulah Sneed; uncles: Robert Kandlstorfer, Gary Converse and Doug Vandybogurt; aunts: Jayne Converse, Vicki McMillan and Annette Vandybogurt; and many cousins. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Nichole was a true friend to many, loved the beach and spending time with her family on holidays. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl and even led her great grandpa to the Lord. We know she is where God wants her now as she is breathing and free from her illness. Her family will miss her deeply but know it’s only temporary and soon we will all be together again in heaven. www.henryfuneralhome.org
