Neoma Allen

Neoma Mae Allen, age 89 of Battle Creek, formerly of Edmore, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012. She was born May 10, 1923 in Edmore, Michigan the daughter of Gustauv W. and Mae Belle (Brastington) Fredrickson. Mrs. Allen graduated from Edmore High School in 1938, Michigan State University in 1944 and returned to M.S.U. earning a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She taught at Edmore Elementary for over twenty years and was an active member in the community, including the Edmore O.E.S. Lodge #111. She was a member of the Michigan Women’s Club and Maple United Methodist Church. On July 28, 1945 she was married to Robert W. Allen who survives. Also surviving are two children: Michael (Pamela) Allen and Patricia Allen both of Battle Creek; granddaughter: Megan (Eric) McLaren of Manistee and brother, Eugene Fredrickson of Stanton. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Steven Robert, Rachel Rae and Michael Q. Allen, and her sister-in-law: Barbara Fredrickson. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
