Nathaniel T. “Nate” Huffman, Age 40, Of Battle Creek, Died Thursday, October 15, 2015, surrounded by his family. Nate was born on April 2, 1975, in Alma, MI the son of Richard and Sally (Moll) Huffman. He was a 1993 graduate of Lakeview High School. He then attended Lansing Community College and was a standout basketball player. He then played basketball for Central Michigan University from 1995 to 1997. He played professionally in the Continental Basketball League before going to Europe to play in Spain and then later for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He later signed an NBA contract with the Toronto Raptors. He was currently employed with Terra Contracting. On July 28, 2007, he was united in marriage to Michelle Huffman who survives. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends, sports, RC airplanes, live music and collected rock posters. Surviving is his son, Christian Huffman of Battle Creek; parents, Dick and Sally Huffman of Battle Creek; brother, Travis (Bethany) Huffman; brothers-in-law, Mike (Kristin) Myers and Matt (Melinda) Maisner; mother-in-law, Diane Myers; nieces and nephews, Layla and Hayley Huffman, Zach, Liam and Riley Maisner, Taylor, Emilee, Kathryn and Natalie Myers. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Huffman in 1973. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015,  from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the First Wesleyan Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
