Nathan Brown

Nathan L. Brown, Age 72, of Battle Creek, passed away on October 15, 2022 at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born on August 21, 1950 in Allegan, MI., the son of Ray and Alberta (Youderian) Brown.  Nathan graduated from Gobles High School in 1968, then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science  in 1976 from Western Michigan University.  He previously worked at Fisher Body in Kalamazoo. But, he spent the bulk of his career with Branch Intermediate School District where he worked as a special education teacher.  He retired from teaching in 2010.  Nathan enjoyed many activities, including hunting and fishing, especially with his sons and friends; riding his Harley throughout Michigan; and just sitting outside with his bulldog companion, Mia.  But, most of all, he treasured spending time with his family.  Nathan was united in marriage on October 27, 1978 in Kalamazoo to Linda Horton, she survives.  Also surviving are his sons; Neil (Melissa) Brown of Grand Rapids, MI., Nicholas (Angela) Brown of Terre Haute, IN., Noah Brown of Portage, MI., brother; Daniel (Beverly) Brown of Plainwell, MI., sisters; Connie Brown and Bonnie Williams, both of Kalamazoo, grandchildren; Luke, Jack, Jonah and Ava.  Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Anita Brown, and brother, David Brown.  He will be dearly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.  A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A luncheon and time of sharing memories will follow the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions in Nathan’s memory may be made to Emmett Street Missionary Church.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
