Nadine Thayer

Nadine Frances Thayer, 80 of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011. She was born March 15, 1931 in Soddy, Tennessee the daughter of Kenneth and Lucille (Scott) Barnes. Nadine had worked at Blue Ribbon Laundry and later retired from E.P.I. In 1957, she was married to James Ira Thayer and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. Nadine was also preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Barnes. Surviving are six children: Lonnie (Sue) Taylor, Steve (Sandy) Taylor, Wanda (Ray) Petch, Larry (Sandra) Walker all of Battle Creek, Ken (Cindy) Thayer of Tinley Park, IL, and Michelle (Darrell) Lockwood of Battle Creek; daughter –in-law: Tammi Thayer of Battle Creek; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her sister: Betty Jo Caraway of Dayton, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence or the American Diabetes Association.
