N. Tinkham

N. Lorraine Tinkham, Age 88, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Laurels of Bedford. Lorraine was born on August 18, 1922, in Parma, Michigan, the daughter of Forrest and Esther (Matson) Woodin. She moved from Parma at age 3, lived near Three Rivers for four and a half years but lived in Battle Creek for most of her life. She married Rube Byrd which ended in divorce, and then she married Charles Tinkham who preceded her in death in 1971. She was employed as a cashier at Kroger Grocery Store in Battle Creek for 25 years.  Surviving is a son, Kent D. Byrd of Battle Creek ; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Lowry and 4 brothers, Max, Matson, Milton and Norman Woodin. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Reese Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.www.henryfuneralhome.org
