Myrtle A. Coy, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was born November 19, 1924 in Ellsinore, Missouri the daughter of Clarence and Winnifred (Smith) Downs. She had worked at the Eaton Corporation during WWII and was an avid bowler. She bowled in many leagues over the years but especially liked the High Noon Fours at M-66 Bowl, was a former secretary for the City Bowling Association and was a member of the Cereal City Bowling Hall of Fame. On March 1, 1942 she was married to Robert R. Coy in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her sister Dorothy, two brothers: Clifford and Bud, and her parents. Myrtle is survived by her son: Robert E. (Karla) Coy of Battle Creek; three grandchildren: Bob (Julie) Coy, Jr. of Battle Creek, Ted G. (Melisa) Coy of Charlotte and David R. (Kim) Coy of Florida; five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister Bernice (Jim) Micheff of Ithaca; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
