Minnie M.  Pierce, Age 94, Of Battle Creek, Died Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in Battle Creek. Minnie was born on July 5, 1917, in Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Henry D. and Dora Victoria (Nowaski) Pierce. She had been an area resident since 1929 and attended Bedford School until the 10th grade. She was employed at United Steel and Wire Co., for 38 years as a spot welder and then in the time office for the last few years until her retirement in 1978. Minnie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, St. Joan Circle and a member of the United Steel and Wire Employees Club. She enjoyed playing cards, Canasta and going on trips. She is survived by a nephew, George E. (Sandra “Sam”) Miller of Battle Creek; a niece, Debera L. (Wesley) Pierce Adams of Rockford, MI; a grandniece, Shelly (Michael) Thebert of Rockford, MI; a great grandniece, Amanda Thebert . She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Woodrow G. “Woody” Pierce in 1964 and a sister-in-law, Lillian Pierce-Keller. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev. Mark  J.  Vyverman officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to The Humane Society of South Central MI or a charity of one’s choice. www.henryfuneralhome.org
