Millie Horvatinovich

Died Wednesday, September 29, 2021, surrounded by her family. Millie was born on March 15, 1927, in Repas, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Martin and Maria (Kopricanec) Zagi.  She married Steve Horvatinovich on February 27, 1949, in Repas, Yugoslavia. To make a better life for his family, Steve moved to America in 1951 and in 1958, Millie and their two daughters joined him in Battle Creek.  He preceded her in death on May 30, 2003. Millie was employed at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation retiring in 1992. She was a former member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church and St. Jerome Catholic Church. Millie was active in church and volunteered at the DOSCA Home, she enjoyed dancing and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with family; especially her grandchildren, whom she was very proud of and loved dearly. Surviving are her children, Kathy (Gary) Garland, Myra (Jon) Hallack, Anna Hozak, John (Julie Kain) Horvatinovich, Mary (Tom) Hulscher, Joseph (Sheri) Horvatinovich and Suzi  Horvatinovich; 13 grandchildren, Tony (Jayna) Garland, David (Natalie Kluge) Garland, Jason (Melissa) Hallack, John (Jennifer) Horvatinovich, Todd (Elizabeth) Hallack, Laurissa Horvatinovich, Emily (Adam) Mandarino, Alex (Rachel Huhta) Hulscher, Evan (Kirby Fagan) Hulscher, Adam Hulscher, Erica Hope, Reiss Hozak and Erin Hope; 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George and John Zagi. Millie was loved by all and will be greatly missed.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held  1:00 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Battle Creek. Memorials may be given to St. Jerome Catholic Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. www.henryfuneralhome.org
