Mildred A. Sullivan age 89, of Battle Creek passed away on April 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Dowling, Michigan, the daughter of Barney and Elsie (Hamner) Williams. Mildred graduated in 1946 from Hastings High School before moving to Battle Creek. Mildred was united in marriage on June 23, 1950, in Battle Creek to Charles E. Sullivan. She was employed as a registered nurse by Leila Hospital, Dr. Simpson Pediatrics, Calhoun County Health Department and was a Head Start Nurse. Mildred was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting quilts and afghans, and loved baking cookies and pies. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; Barney & Elsie Williams, and a brother; Myron Williams. She is survived by her husband; Charles E. Sullivan of Battle Creek, sons; Thomas Sullivan of Milford, Michigan, Mark Sullivan of Wausau, Wisconsin, Daniel (Jo) Sullivan of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Chad Parmalee officiating. Procession to the cemetery chapel will be leaving the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
