Michael Siddall, Sr.

Michael Arthur Siddall, Sr., age 69, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017. He was born November 16, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Donald Keith and Mildred Louise (Rench) Siddall. Mike was a 1965 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Scout Dog Handler in Vietnam receiving two Bronze Stars and the Army Commendation Medal, and was honorably discharged on April 28, 1969. Mike was an engineer for Grand Trunk Railroad for 38 years. A member of American Legion Post 298, he loved to canoe, Saturday morning Ping Pong and fish, play golf and racquetball, and was a huge fan of U of M. At one time Mike was ranked the #1 racquetball player in Michigan. On June 13, 2003 he was united in marriage to Penny K. (Yoder), who survives. Also surviving are his sons: Michael Arthur (Amy) Siddall, Jr. of Battle Creek and Woody James (Wendy Rigterink) Siddall of Royal Oak; step-sons: Rome Ring of Las Vegas, NV, Shannon Ring of Bangor and Jason Ring of Niles; twenty grandchildren with one on the way and two great-grandchildren; sisters: Becky (Andy) Kerr of Battle Creek and Susan (Butch) Hanna of Dayton, TN; brother Dennis (Jan) Siddall of Battle Creek; brother-in-law Ray Smith of Dayton, TN; many nieces and nephews, and his dog Scooter. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sharon Lee Smith. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Funeral Home with his brother Rev. Dennis Siddall officiating.
