Michael Perun

Michael Perun, age 63, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at his residence. Mike was born August 4, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan the son of John and Josephine (Sapienza) Perun. He was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Pennfield High School where he was a state champion wrestler. Mike worked with his father building homes and later built and remodeled homes as well as drove truck for Express 1 Freight with his brother Joe. Mike is survived by his lifelong companion, Marlene Steinberg; uncle, Angelo Sapienza and cousins: Joseph, Steve and Ann Marie Sapienza. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be conducted at Memorial Park Cemetery.
