Michael Guy Jettner, Age 68, Of Battle Creek, Died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in Battle Creek. Michael was born on July 29, 1946, in Battle Creek, the son of Guy and Mary (Fayen) Jettner. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School in 1964, where he excelled in football and track. After graduation he attended KCC, before enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served for three years before being honorably discharged. After the service Mike started work for Morris Brothers Sheet Metal (where he had worked part time during his high school and college days). Several years later he began work at Clark Equipment Company where he worked until the closing of the company. In 1983, Mike had a dream and brought to life the start-up of Friends and Company, he along with Linda Hanna owned Friends and Company until 2008 at which time the bar was sold. During this time he also worked at the Kellogg Company. Upon retirement from Kellogg’s, in 1999, Mike continued to run Friends and Company while also owning and managing several apartment complexes in the Battle Creek area. Mike had many hobbies, golf, bowling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Tonya Jettner; sons, Michael Todd Jettner of Fort Wayne, IN and Timothy Michael (Theresa) Jettner of Lansing, MI; his step- daughter, Joslin Fisher and step-son, Dustin (Megan) Moon of Battle Creek; his mother, Mary Jettner; four grandchildren, Phillip, Sydney, Dakota and Jalinn. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Jettner and a brother, Daniel Jettner. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the funeral home with Robert Baker officiating.
