Merl D Grosvenor (Mel) passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 82 years of age. He was born to Gerald and Marie Grosvenor in Plymouth, Indiana. He graduated from South Bend's Riley High School in 1958. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Indiana University in 1963. He worked in banking for over 40 year in Michigan and Texas. He retired from Southern Michigan Bank and Trust, Coldwater, Michigan in 2003.
In retirement, he volunteered for the flag crew at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Scrounge for Creative Recycle Arts Projects (S.C.R.A.P) in Marshall, and Meals on Wheels in Battle Creek.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities especially hiking and biking. He participated in Pedal Across Lower Michigan (PALM) bicycle rides and Cereal City Century’s in Michigan. He was an active member of the Houston bicycle club and enjoyed many events including moonlight rambles and century rides.
Merl is survived by his wife of 38 years SueAnne Grosvenor, daughter Tamara Grosvenor, son and daughter in law John and Debbie Grosvenor of Springfield, Tennessee, former spouse Rebecca Nooe, brother and sister-in-law William and Carol Grosvenor of Indianapolis, Indiana, stepdaughter and son in law LeeAnne and Cameron White of Kalamazoo, Michigan, seven grandchildren, and two nieces.
Burial and celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Battle Creek. www.henryfuneralhome.org
