Merle Frey

Merle Dale Frey, born January 23, 1942, passed away at Bronson Kalamazoo on February 11, 2025. He was married for 62 years to Sue Ann (Donahue ) Frey. He was a wonderful father to son Bill (Laurann) Frey, Grandfather to Austin (Taylor) Frey and Travis Weeks. Brother in law, cousin , uncle and great uncle and friend to so many. He and mom lived wonderful lives together, living in several states early on before settling in Indianapolis where they resided from 1981 to 2009, when they moved to their current home in Scottville Mi. Merle was also a proud veteran, having served in the army for 8 years. He was part of the Presidential Flight detachment under President Johnson. After which he began his lifelong career in the cable and communications industries. They traveled all over the country and Hawaii. Wintered in Texas for several years in their motorhome. He enjoyed working in his shop and being outdoors, hunting early on and a lifelong fisherman. He loved time with family and buddies on his boat. He loved to cook, and man could he eat (a true professional) !! Merle was proceeded in death by his mother Hazel, his father George, his brother Merlin Frey , his sister Margie Rial , his sister, Martha Sutter and his brother Milton Frey. Thank you for all the prayers and support to our family over the last couple years during dad’s battles with health issues. There will not be a service at this time. His wishes are to be interned at Fort Custer national cemetery. Forever in our hearts, we love you dad! There will be a celebration of life for Merle on March 15,2025 from 1-4 at the Ceresco Baptist Church. Arrangements are being made through Richard A. Henry funeral home.
