Maxine Waneta Marlowe, age 94, of Battle Creek, passed away on June 26, 2021, at Reflections Memory Care. She was born on January 12, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Fay (Shirk) Royer. Maxine graduated from Marshall High School. She was previously employed by Swanson Cookie Company in Battle Creek and worked in administration at Altrusa Nursery where she retired from after nineteen years. She especially loved spending time with her sister/best friend, Betty at movies, casino and Bingo. Maxine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was united in marriage in 1947 to John O. Marlowe, he preceded her in death on May 10, 2009. Also preceding her in death are a son; John R. Marlowe, grandson; Josh Marlowe, brothers; Charles (Thelma) Royer, Franklin Royer, and a sister; Betty Edwards. She is survived by her daughter; Kay (Steve) Schanzenbaker of Battle Creek, grandchildren; Sherrie Schanzenbaker, Steven (Lori) Schanzenbaker, and Johna (Dr. Luke Daum) Marlowe, great grandchildren; Holden and Chase Daum, Abigail, Lydia, Mallory, Jvonte, Monae, Mariona, and Marquise Schanzenbaker, sister-in-law; Jo Anna Royer. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Siddall officiating.
