Maxine Becke

Maxine L.  Becke, Age 94, Of Battle Creek, Passed Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Maxine was born on October 19, 1920, in Greeley, CO, the daughter of Samuel and Hattie (Burns) Dragoo. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Lakeview High School.  Maxine was employed at Swanson’s during the war and then with the family business Becke’s Equipment Rental. She married Mathew J. Becke who preceded her in death in 2009. Maxine was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed making quilts, was a member of the Calhoun County Quilting Club but most of all enjoyed being a mother and taking care of her family. Surviving are her children, Alan (Carol Neckel) Becke, David Becke, James Becke and Julie (Larry) Shanley; grandchildren, Megan and Kelly Shanley. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 6:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
