Mavis Corum

Mavis  J.  Corum, Age 86, of Battle Creek, Went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2013, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Mavis was born on December 18, 1927, in Marshall, MI, the daughter of Ellsworth M. and Donna (Seeger) Jarvis. She lived in Marshall as a child then moved to Battle Creek graduating from Lakeview High School. On May 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Aubrey Corum who survives. She worked at Percy Jones Hospital (Where she met her husband), Post Cereal, Channing Insurance and multiple real estate companies until her retirement. Mavis enjoyed bingo, golf and bowling. Surviving are children, Steven Corum, Rebecca Knapp and son-in-law, Bill Rardin; granddaughters, Kacie (JR) Brunner, Brooke (Jeff) Bronsink and a grandson, Steven Roddy; 4 great grandchildren; Nieces, Deana (Gary) Hakes and Dawn (John) Hamelink. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Rardin in 1999.  In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
