Mary Alice Dettmann Vahldieck, Age 89, Born to life August 8, 1927, was born to eternal life December 3, 2016. Mary was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Wauwatosa, a suburb. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in education and taught first grade in the Milwaukee public school system. Mary was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading and cooking. Mary married Ned Arthur Vahldieck in April 1950. The love they shared lasted over sixty years and only death could part them. Mary is survived by her dearly loved daughters; Jill (Michael) Crim of Battle Creek and Amy (Donald) Sticksel of Oregon; granddaughters, Amy Wirth of Battle Creek and Erin Crim of Missouri; and great granddaughter, Taylor Wirth of Battle Creek; a brother, Richard (Marjorie) Dettmann of Florida and nephews, David, Daniel and Matthew Dettmann. A private family service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Cary Grant of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Humane Society of South Central MI or Bronson at Home Hospice. Arrangements by the Richard A.
