Mary Slaughter

Mary  Rebecca Slaughter, Age 88, Of Battle Creek, Passed away Friday, September 23, 2011.  She was born April 29, 1923, in Londonderry, Ireland, the daughter of Harry and Sarah Crockett. She came to the United States at the age of 3 with her parents. Mary retired after 25 years working at Sears in the Livonia/Novi area. She loved gardening, watching the birds and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her daughters, Connie (Charles) Zimmerman of Ceresco and Barbara Autrey of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandsons, Robert (Cindy) Peterson of Homer, Daniel (Jerri) Peterson of Onondaga and Shane (Lindsay) Autrey of Atlanta, Georgia; and  great grandchildren,  Ericka (Tyler) Harden, Lurah Peterson and Tom Peterson. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Gena Peterson and grandson, Devin Autrey. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
