Mary E. “Betty” Ruppert, Age 93, Of Battle Creek, Died Friday, January 15, 2016, in Battle Creek. Mary was born on December 11, 1922, in Waynesboro, PA, the daughter of Earl H. and Elsie E. (Miller) Peiffer. She was a 1940 graduate of Waynesboro High School and has been a Battle Creek area resident since 1993. On June 26, 1942, she was united in marriage to Melvin F. “Bud” Ruppert who preceded her in death. Betty was employed with JCPenney, Bristow Children’s Department Store, Newberry’s Department Store, McCrory’s Department Store and Bercraw’s Village Barn until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed sewing and reading. Surviving is a daughter, Cynthia (Donald) Noga of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Christine (David) Redmond and Mark Noga; great grandchildren, Randall Bottomley and Antonio Moya; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A.
