Mary Meade

Mary Catherine “Kitty” Meade, age 83 of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born May 22, 1929 in Boones Mill, Virginia the daughter of Henry and Maime (Gwilliams) Hoy. She retired from Kendall Electric Company where she had worked for over 10 years. On August 1, 1954 Kitty was united in marriage to Robert William Meade who preceded her in death on February 7, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister: Edith Morecock, son-in-law: Andy Hocking and nephew: Frank Morecock. Surviving are three children: Katherine Hocking, Bobbie (John) Brawley and Richard Meade all of Battle Creek; step-grandson: Cody Brawley; special adopted grandchildren: Tim and Cassie Knauss and special adopted great-grandson: Hunter Knauss. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery in Hastings, Michigan. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or Lifespan.
