Mary Leiter

Mary G.Leiter, age 88, of Battle Creek, passed away on October 7, 2017. She was born on July 4, 1929 in Shreveport, Louisiana the daughter of Harrison and Johnnie (Pollard) Green. Mary graduated in 1946 from Byrd High School in Shreveport, then came to Battle Creek in 1955. She was a pet groomer, and worked for 16 years as a book keeper for Notke Bowling Alley. Mary was a member of the American Legion, and the Battle Creek Bowling Association. She enjoyed painting, golfing, bowling, and playing Gin with a ladies group. She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert J. Leiter, brothers; William, Wilbur and Harold Green. Surviving are a son; Robert “Kevin” (Lori) Leiter of Battle Creek, granddaughter; Erika (Zach) Carlson, grandson; Lance Leiter, great-granddaughter; Natalie Carlson. In accordance to her wishes cremation has taken place, a memorial celebration will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Dolphin Lounge, 681 Capital Avenue SW, Battle Creek.
