Mary Lamson

Mary L. Lamson, 81 of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born March 25, 1930 in Fremont, Ohio the daughter of James Russell and Earnestine (Mitchell) McDowell. Mary was a registered nurse in Battle Creek having worked at the V.A. Medical Center and Community Hospital, primarily in pediatrics and geriatrics. Following her retirement, Mary moved to Tucson, Arizona where she loved to hike and returned to Battle Creek in 2001. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting. Surviving are three children: Kim (Gary Hansen) Lamson of Sturgis, Mark (Joan) Lamson of Oak Creek, WI and Charles Lamson of Battle Creek; sister: Betty Bryson of El Paso, TX as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister: Marilyn Ruble. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1079 Riverside Drive, Battle Creek, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
